MLS Participants and Subscribers are required to accept the terms of the new Participant and Subscriber agreements.
Changes to the Agreements
The agreements were modified to comply with the NAR Settlement terms by removing the requirement for MLS Participants (brokers) to offer compensation to cooperating Participants and including a new definition of cooperation.
Participant Intellectual Property Options
Option 1: assigns BMLS your intellectual property (photos and remarks) copyright and allows the MLS to pursue reasonable efforts to deter someone from using the content without permission.
Option 2: licenses your intellectual property and gives permission for its use within the MLS systems and ancillary products and services.
The primary difference between these two options is whether or not you want to retain the copyright and handle the protection of your intellectual property.
