Is your website ADA compliant?

Website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a hot topic for all service-based businesses.

Legal threats have even surfaced throughout the real estate industry in the form of demand letters or complaints being filed.

To best serve all buyers and sellers, your website should incorporate options that allow people with disabilities to send emails, search listings, or send electronic documents. Those features will also ensure that your site complies with the emerging technology requirements of the ADA.

To help our members achieve website compliance under the ADA and Fair Housing Act, we invited Scott Trachtenberg, Founder & CEO of ADA Site Compliance, to speak at last week's Realtor® Town Hall.

If you missed that webinar, a recording is provided for you below.

If needed...

In the event that you are contacted by an attorney for non-ADA compliance, please follow these steps.

  1. Do not ignore, you must respond

  2. Contact Florida Realtors® Legal Hotline

  3. Inform your Broker and your Webmaster
