Florida Realtors® Win National C2EX Challenge

President Barry Grooms: “Florida’s Realtors® are passionate advocates for Realtor® professionalism.” Winners receive a $5,000 grant to help promote C2EX in 2021.

A $5,000 check is in the mail to Florida Realtors® as a grant prize for winning the 2020 C2EX Challenge in the mega category (30,000+ members) from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR).

NAR officially announced that Florida Realtors® is the top winner in its category, with 5,837 competition points, followed by Texas Realtors®, who also celebrated a win in the same category with 3,405 points. All winners received a $5,000 challenge grant to help fund their continued promotion of the Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) program in 2021.

“Florida’s Realtors® are passionate advocates for Realtor professionalism and have supported efforts to showcase that value to consumers for many, many years,” says 2020 President Barry Grooms, a Realtor® and co-owner of Florida Suncoast Real Estate Inc. in Bradenton. “It’s an honor to receive this win in NAR’s C2EX Challenge on behalf of our members, and I’m so proud of our members for their enthusiasm for the C2EX program. Their participation demonstrates their pride in being a Realtor®, and their desire to raise the bar for professionalism in our industry. It's a privilege to receive this recognition from my friend and our 2019 president, Eric Sain, the current chairman of NAR's C2EX Committee. We're so proud of all that he's accomplished with C2EX.”

The C2EX program is not a designation or course. The online self-assessment isn’t a requirement, but a benefit available to Realtors® 24-7, at their convenience. The online resource measures a Realtor®’s proficiency in each of 10 elements of professionalism – 11 elements for brokers. Based on individual results, the platform generates customized learning paths, recommends experiences, and provides tools and resources to increase that Realtor’s knowledge and skillsets.

This is the second year in a row that Florida Realtors® has won NAR’s C2EX contest; the challenge first began last year, with judging based not only on participation results but also on creative promotion strategies and materials. Florida Realtors® received a $10,000 grant as last year’s winner.

2020 NAR C2EX Chairman Eric Sain was president of Florida Realtors® in 2019 and at that time, vice chair of the national association’s C2EX committee.

In a recent congratulatory email to Florida Realtors® and all the 2020 challenge winners, Sain wrote: “We have all seen that C2EX helps Realtors® better understand professionalism and what it means to be a well-rounded Realtor®. We appreciate your support and endorsement of this platform. It is truly changing all the time and it is a great resource/library for the future. I am thrilled to congratulate you on winning the 2020 C2EX Challenge!”

Kasey Stewart, NAR director of member development, also sent an email to congratulate the winners: “Thank you so much for all you have done in support of C2EX, and for continuing to raise the bar of professionalism with your exemplary work.”

Additional announcements regarding the 2020 C2EX Challenge winners will be made during NAR’s Virtual Annual Conference and Expo, which kicked off the governance meetings on Nov. 2. The C2EX Committee meets on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. CST; the winning associations will be recognized during the meeting. Florida Realtors®’ win also will be featured during the virtual education session, “10 Pillars of Professionalism,” on Wednesday Nov. 18, from 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. CST.
