Realtors® Donate $30,000 for Final Phase of Boynton Beach’s Barrier Free Park
The Realtors® of the Palm Beaches and Greater Fort Lauderdale (RAPB + GFLR) in partnership with the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) presented the city of Boynton Beach with $30,000 to help finish the final phase of the Barrier Free Park. The check was given to the city of Boynton Beach on October 15th at the city of Boynton Beach Commissioners Meeting. President Jeffrey Levine, President Elect Jarrod Lowe, Southern Palm Beach Regional Vice President J.D. McClintock, and Northern Palm Beach Regional Vice President Jonathan Dolphus were present to hand the check to the city.
“Our association has partnered with the city of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department for nearly a decade now on the Barrier Free Park. We are proud to have witnessed its continual growth and progress,” said Jeffrey Levine, RAPB + GFLR President.
The Barrier Free Park is a park specifically designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities, by providing a place to play, laugh and live without limits.
Back in February, RAPB + GFLR partnered with the city of Boynton Beach to host the 7th Annual Barrier Free 5K Race where the proceeds went to the expansion of the park. The race featured over 240 participants and raised $25,000.
“Realtors® are more than just people who sell homes, they are advocates for their communities and help build and shape our neighborhoods,” continues Levine.
The funds from the NAR Mega Board Community Outreach Grant will go towards building a handicap bridge/dock so that children will have access to the pond to fly kites, fish, & use radio-controlled boats.
