Median Price Skyrockets, Eclipses $400k Mark

Just in! Newly released market reports from Florida Realtors® detailing recent real estate activity in Martin County. The reports compare year-over-year data for January. Here are statistics on single family homes.

“The Martin County housing market is hot! The median sales price skyrocketed by 12.9 percent to $406,375. This is the new high in median sale price and the first time we’ve seen it eclipse the $400,000 mark,” said Jarrod Lowe, President of Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors®.

Median sale price is our preferred summary statistic for price activity because, unlike average sale price, median sale price is not sensitive to high sales prices for small numbers of homes that may not be characteristic of the market area.

“Closed sales also increased at an astonishing 25.2 percent to 144. Sellers should feel confident listing their homes on the market after looking over the January market report. If you’re contemplating selling, contact a local Realtor® for tips and advice on maneuvering through the home selling process,” continues Lowe.

Closed sales are typically one of the simplest – yet most important – indicators for the residential real estate market.
