Realtors® Unite at the Annual Mayors Breakfast

On Thursday, February 29th, Realtors® from all over South Florida came together for the first of the three-part Mayors Breakfast event series, where they engaged in discussions and collaborated with nine elected officials in Broward County.

This Realtor® Party event is crucial in advancing public policies, fostering cohesive communities, safeguarding property interests, and cultivating a thriving business environment, which was showcased in this event by inspiring and empowering real estate professionals to contribute to and support their communities. The Realtor® Party helps to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests, and promote a vibrant business environment.

David Serle, President of The Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors®, emphasized, “The significance of the Realtor® Party is advocating for the real estate industry's interests, particularly on crucial topics such as property insurance and affordable housing solutions. This platform enables Realtors® to voice their concerns and engage with elected officials, fostering networking opportunities and facilitating dialogue on pertinent issues.”

The nine mayors and panelists included Mayor Greg Ross from Cooper City, Mayor AJ Ryan from Dania Beach, Mayor Joy Cooper from Hallandale Beach, Mayor Josh Levy from Hollywood, Vice Mayor Eric Morrissette from Pembroke Park, Mayor Frank Ortis from Pembroke Pines, Mayor Felicia Brunson from West Park, Mayor Margaret Brown from the City of Weston & Town Administrator Russell Muniz from SouthWest Ranches.

Some of the key highlights at the event included Realtor® members taking part in engaging conversations regarding policies and changes that are happening locally, as well as those issues that are on the rise in their municipalities. They even had the opportunity at the end of the briefing panel to have their voices heard with a Q & A discussion with the panelists.

Immediate Past President Chris Krzemien said, “The Mayors Breakfast focused on the southern regions of our county, where members and the larger community were able to connect with the local government to understand the issues and impact of each city and its own throughout the county. This event was the coming together of community leaders to better the community, share ideas, and help their constituents daily.”

For decades, the Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors® have had great working relationships with municipalities and their local elected officials. Collectively, this coming together for the betterment of real estate is a testament to that bond.
